I was always a big fan of this guy, and his death in January was quite a sad time. And now it seems that his family, including his 2 year old daughter, are caught up in a battle with his life insurance provider.

He had been reported to have trouble sleeping, and took a host of prescription drugs to help him with his insomnia. A complete tox report showed a number of drugs in his system, but concluded accidental death. However, ReliaStar Life Insurance are refusing to pay out ont he claim, as they argue the death could be a result of a suicide attempt, making the claim null and void.

The total value of the policy is $10m, which is how much Ledger's estate is worth, but before they release it, they are investigating the matter further. Poor Ledger.
